What is a Bookish Camp?

Bookish Camp is an annual camp hosted by Bookish Retreats LLC in Newbury, Ohio. This camp stands 3 nights and 4 days at a campground will everything you need to have a great time with other book lovers!

What's the Cost?

Unlike retreats, camp is one of our most affordable events! A single twin bed or bunk bed in a shred cabin with other campers is $650-$700. We also offer a payment plan spanning 3 months to help make getting your spot more feasible.

What's included?

Camp includes your lodging, activities, 3 meals a day, water stations and morning coffee (creamer limited), and planned events. This is a primitive campground so please plan accordingly. At Camp in 2026 we will have a permanent jewelry vendor on site and this is an additional cost.

What's the age range and who can come to camp?

Currently, our camp is designed for women aged 21 and older. We welcome a diverse range of attendees, from those in their early 20s to those well into their 60s.

Where do we sleep?

The campground has a variety of cabins available. We have exclusive use of the campground, with the majority of attendees sleeping in a shared cabin with a total of 10 campers. One cabin has a total of 9 bunks for 18 campers. All cabins come equipped with AC units and wall outlets. The camp does not provide bedding. This is something that campers are required to bring.

Can I bring and store my own food and drinks?

Yes! There are commercial kitchen refrigerators in the kitchen as well as shelves to store any additional food and drinks you Amy want to bring with you to camp.

I have dietary restrictions. Can camp accommodate this?

Yes. We will be purchasing food from local restaurants and will have dietary restricted options available. There is a place on your registration to list any restrictions you may have. Please note: If you have celiacs, it is highly encouraged to bring snacks in addition to meals and to be aware that the kitchen does have cross contamination. Camp nor Bookish Retreats can be held responsible for allergen issues due to cross contamination both in the facility and by the restaurants providing the food.

What are the meals like at camp?

In the past, we have had the camp staff make the meals. For our third year, we will be having food brought in that has been made in local restaurants. There will be staff assisting in putting out the food but will not be serving. These are self served/self grab and go meals. All meals will be served on paper plates. Our tentative meals for 2026:
